Will a heat pump heat my home properly?
Yes — when properly designed and installed. We carry out detailed heat loss calculations for your specific property and design the system to meet your heating needs. Modern air source heat pumps work efficiently down to -20°C. Your home will be just as warm as with a gas boiler.
Do I need to change my radiators?
Not always. Heat pumps run at lower flow temperatures than boilers, so some radiators may need upsizing to deliver the same heat output. We assess every radiator during the survey and only recommend changes where necessary. Many homes need no radiator changes at all.
How long does installation take?
Most installations take 2–5 days. A straightforward swap from a gas boiler with no radiator changes might take 2–3 days. More complex installations involving radiator upgrades, new hot water cylinders, or extensive pipework can take up to 5 days.
Are heat pumps noisy?
Modern air source heat pumps operate at around 40–45dB — about the same volume as a fridge or a quiet conversation. Planning rules require units to be no louder than 42dB at the nearest property boundary. We position units carefully to minimise any impact.
Do I qualify for the £7,500 grant?
Most homeowners qualify. You need a valid EPC (we can arrange this), and the property must not be a new build. The grant is available for owner-occupiers, private landlords, and self-builders. Social housing is excluded. We check your eligibility during the free survey.
